Leeds Rhinos Will Pay Tribute To Club Legend Rob Burrow When They Face St Helens In The Super League On Thursday

Leeds v St Helens: Rhinos to honour Rob Burrow at Headingley

Leeds Rhinos will pay tribute to club legend Rob Burrow when they face St Helens in the Super League on Thursday

The match at Headingley Stadium will be Burrow's first game back at the ground since being diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December

The former Great Britain and England scrum-half will be given a guard of honour by both teams before the game, and there will be a minute's applause in the seventh minute - the number he wore on his shirt.

Burrow, who won eight Super League titles with Leeds, was diagnosed with MND in December and has since retired from playing.

The 37-year-old has been praised for his courage and determination since his diagnosis, and has raised more than £1m for the MND Association.

Leeds coach Richard Agar said: "It's going to be a very special night for Rob and his family, and for the club.

"He's an inspiration to us all, and we're looking forward to giving him the send-off he deserves."

St Helens coach Kristian Woolf said: "Rob is a legend of the game, and we're all behind him in his fight against MND.

"It's going to be a tough game, but we're determined to give him a good send-off."

The match will be live on Sky Sports, and BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Humberside will have live commentary.

Conclusion:

This is a special night for Rob Burrow, his family, and the Leeds Rhinos, and let us all celebrate his career and his incredible fight against MND.
